Global Deserts Threatened By Climate Change (Video)

Global Deserts Threatened By Climate Change (Video)

In many areas of the world, climate change is drying up rivers and turning lush farmland into sandy wasteland. Despite this issue of artificial ‘desertification’ studies have shown that many of the world’s deserts are equally threatened.

Although deserts cover more than 40 percent of the planet’s land area, they face dramatic changes as a result of global climate change, high water demands, tourism and salt contamination of irrigated soils.

This gripping video shows how deserts are essential, diverse ecosystems that need to be protected from climate change. If lost, we may never be able to take advantage of the secrets to renewable energy and medicine these deserts contain.

It is encouraging to see these countries using wind and solar power, especially solar that can power the whole world.
There is hope for us yet.
More countries are getting onboard with renewable energy sources and quickly.
