Let’s not mince words here. Today the Republican party made it clear they not only know nothing about women’s health care, they don’t care.
The contempt for women was palpable during Rep. Darrell Issa’s (R-CA) sham of an oversight hearing on whether or not keeping access to contraception available for women was an attack on religious liberty. Here’s a hint: not even Justice Scalia thinks it is. Beside the utter lack of a voice, of parity in participation let alone diversity of opinion, accessing birth control was likened to serving pork at a kosher deli from a witnessed deemed qualified to offer testimony while a female Catholci law student was told she didn’t have anything to add to the proceedings.
Then came Rick Santorum funder and billionaire investor Foster Friess letting MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell know that this whole birth control debate was really know big deal because, back in Friess’s day women just kept their legs shut.
Here’s the exchange:
Mitchell: Do you have any concerns about some of his comments on social issues, contraception, about women in combat, and whether that would hurt his general election campaign would he be the nominee?
Friess: I get such a chuckle when these things come out. Here we have millions of our fellow Americans unemployed, we have jihadist camps being set up in Latin America, which Rick has been warning about, and people seem to be so preoccupied with sex. I think it says something about our culture. We maybe need a massive therapy session so we can concentrate on what the real issues are. And this contraceptive thing, my gosh, it’s such inexpensive. Back in my day, they used Bayer aspirin for contraceptives. The gals put it between their knees and it wasn’t that costly.
Mitchell: Excuse me, I’m just trying to catch my breath from that, Mr. Friess, frankly.
So there you have it, ladies. If you sluts just kept your legs shut we wouldn’t have to bring these men up to Capitol Hill to testify how your sluttiness is impeding their religious freedoms. I tried to be more delicate and artful in the summary but really, the Republicans have taken us far past delicate and artful and too much is on the line to worry about the niceties any longer.

+ add your ownif you refuse to use condoms and birth control then yes, you should keep your legs shut. sex makes babies. this is not rocket science. it has been a known fact since the beginning of time. abortions should not be used every time you get laid and get knocked up. bc pills arent expensive, and at least in nc they are covered by medicaid. condoms are also inexpensive. rape is a different scenario altogether, along with incest and severe health issues. otherwise, if you arent willing to prevent getting pregnancy, take responsibility and keep those legs SHUT
REPUBLICAN MEN; GET YOURSELVES CASTRATED!!!
I finally read what Elaine A. wrote. I am stunned. I honestly did not know that god made some women so STUPID!!! I think a genetic test of this one would get us close to some neaderthal DNA.
Faye, people haven't forgotten about them, they simply don't work, and especially in case of forced sexual assaults, and that includes those between married people, dates and intimidation. Yeah, right, the woman who is followed home by the guy at the store and told he'll kill her or her child if she resists is going to luck out there if she tells him it's not the "right time of month" for her. He's really going to respect that, same as the abusive husband who thinks the "missues" should be his anytime he wants. I bet if she gives him two "Bayer", that will change his mind, right? Are you for real? What century were you born in?
These men are utterly despicable! They've spent their whole careers spewing such verbal diarrhea that they are diluted enough to actually believe the shit they say. They lost their humanity a very long time ago.
Despite the negative comments, this 'asprin' method does work...and it's cheap. Unfortunately there aren't many woman willing to put a damper on their sexual desires which would certainly eliminate much of the need for birth control. People seem to have forgotten about the 'rhythm' method and 'withdrawal' method. Although they aren't 'fool proof' they can greatly reduce the chances of pregnancy...but that's certainly asking too much effort of you and your sex partner.
Women need to take more than an equal responsibility in the sexual arena. This issue shouldn't even be on the political table.
clearly they have no desire to have their political career to get off the ground. With comments like that what woman in her right mind would vote for someone who can say that. I wonder if they have forgotten that woman are allowed to vote as well as men?
Maybe more GOP males need to be castrated since I'm sure a majority of them engage in extramarital affairs with false promises or making rape a sport along with sexually harrassing women where ever they can. Then they get another hard on when they try to put laws on the books to further subjegate women to nothing more than breeding stock and chattel. Women need birth control and access to abortions because of men who think females are put here for men's sexual pleasure and ego gratification only.
This guy is a complete and utter idiot so I really could not care what he has to say :-(
This guy needs to keep his mouth shut and to make sure he has his chastity belt on.
