AWE GEEZZZ Northern the liar again....all you do spread negativity around care2. Obama is NOT a socialist. Even IF he were it's not illegal to be one. They have a right to believe as they do.

I think it is a start but what really needs to be done to get change in this country is for us to disconnect the money flowing from corporations to any type of political or government organization. Governments only real fault is being run by weak backed humans that see dollar signs and sell out to lobbyist and corporations. It is the big corporations pulling these puppet strings. I am glad that this passed though because it stopped the insur companies from denying people with pre existing conditions.

I would bet that most of the people agreeing with this bill are under 65. It is very scary to learn that you will be "forced" into anything let alone purchasing insurance - no matter the cost.
We paid for our social security benefits, but they are dwindling away because of medical costs - tell me in all honesty, do you want your parents living with you - for whatever reason. That is what it is going to come down to. I also believe that a woman should have "choice" as far as abortion, but I am not going to pay for it. This bill will open the door to more abortions as a birth control measure. Have you ever spoken to a woman who has had an abortion - I have (several) the majority of them have had to refer to counseling because of it - or in the case of a retarded child when the abortion failed - dealing with the child and realizing that you were the 'cause of it. There are many other reason I do not agree with the bill, but do not have the time to go through it all - read it all, you will discover some of the "off the wall" hidden factors in it that you too may not agree with.

Is it a good bill?

The problem is that many in this country answer "no" because of the unending nonsense about this being government controlled "socialized" medicine (with no understanding of what a nationalized health care system means anyway).

The huge problem with this bill, though providing some good things, is that it leaves our corrupt and ineficient private insurance monopoly firmly in charge with little measures to stop them from ripping us off.

There has been so much misinformation put out by the huge insurance and pharma corporations that many Americans literally fight against regulations that would curb their abuses, while saving people money.

How mindless has this county become? Public health is already a farce. Try it! We needed reform from within the system not try to start anew. The abuse & overuse is astronomical. ER's are full of those who wait til drs. are closed & use ER's everything. We pay for this already. We pay for those who don't want to work but can work the system. If I was 20 again I would be tempted to just have a baby and let the govn. take of me & it. The new plan has already increased taxes. My retirement is down the drain. Taxable up to 85%. I became an adult as 21, they want to cover kids up to 26. Not on my doorstep! I have been on my own since 17 and I expect the same. When did we begin to expect the govn. to take care of us and put us so far in debt to waste more of our resources. It's time for the newest generation to leave tv's & games behind to look into profitable work. It's time to read between the lines and the fine print cause we are already in a major disaster. I can only pray this health-less bill is repelled.
