“Hero Lifeguard Dog Saving Puppy” Video Goes Viral

“Hero Lifeguard Dog Saving Puppy” Video Goes Viral

An amazing video of a Golden retriever puppy struggling to get out of a backyard swimming pool plays like a scene in a dramatic movie. Just when you think the little dog is not going to make it, its hero mother jumps into the water, pushing and pulling the puppy to safety.

The video, which has gone viral, has received a lot of attention, criticism and cynicism from viewers. However, it doesn’t seem like anyone will know the real facts behind the melodrama anytime soon.

Some animal lovers have applauded the bravery and intelligence of the mother dog, while others have criticized the person filming the video for idly standing by while a young dog nearly drowns. And then there are the cynics who think the video is a staged trick with two very well trained animal actors.

Watch the video and come to your own conclusion. Hopefully this is a case of a clever owner and his/her two talented family pets.

There is nothing staged about mom saving her child. The person videoing should have stopped and rescued the puppy, but was more interested in filming, which makes him/her, in my eyes, less of a pet lover than a voyeur. Mom, you are the best.

If you have a pool you should train your dog to swim to the steps if they fall in. My dog-loving friends all do this and were glad they did! :)

It's kind of exaggerated anyways, the puppy was nowhere close to drowning, his head didn't go under at all that I saw, Mommy did an excellent job of helping him, so why would the humans step in? I'm sure if the puppy was close to drowning they would have helped out.

Great momma doggy to the rescue...terrible people doing nothing.

I don't think the puppy was about to drown. I suspect that if the dog had not pulled it out-- a human would have--- very likely it has done it before.

I think the person is stupid- and why isn't there a fence around the pool? When a child falls in the pool and drowns, it won't be an entertaining video...

I don't believe it was staged. The mother dog was frantic, and when she couldn't push her pup out, left the pool quickly, to pull it out ... and FAR out away from the pool. Dogs are like that.

I would say it had happened a few times before and they were hoping to catch it again, the stuck dog didn't seem in any real danger as it swam to the edge just couldn't get out.
