I've watched the video several times. I love how people are joking around, then clapping and cheering, only to get that last message as a kind of slap in the face wake up call. It's a powerful message. People think of the girls as entertainment, not people, and then the text comes up and suddenly they're forced to realize that they've been mindlessly enjoying the show, the girls, without thinking about the story behind, the reality of how such girls end up there. They don't even realize that their ignorance, their lack of asking questions is part of the problem.

Julie mentioned that some of the girls are probably 15, and the horrible reality is that there are most likely much younger girls out there, too. It's such a complex issue, and unfortunately very hard to fight. All we can do is try our hardest, and do our part in being aware, and enlightening others.

That the ladies are beautiful, and their dance is entertaining is not the problem. They deserve better.

Veronica, I think that you're right but the fact that we're commenting here (and I am certainly going to show this video to friends and family) can only helpful in highlighting the situation. It is common practice to entice young women to other countries with the promise of a job,a home etc and then once they arrive keep their passport and physically and psychologically abuse them into staying in a situation that is no better than slavery!

If I were standing in the street there, I don't think I would notice that sign. I agree that many of those men don't have respect for women, either, and their views won't be changed.
Still, this can be a powerful message for younger guys or guys with ethics.

slavery is right beside you
look closely and it might be you endorsing it
so next time you mock or scorn at person
think that maybe you could be part of the solution to
stop this human trafficking

We need to STOP THIS. I think one of the gifts we could give on this site should go to stopping trafficking
