You’re Invited To Join The “Virtual March On Wall Street”

Across the United States, something is happening.

It might be too early to call it a revolution, but it’s definitely a movement. People are mobilizing, remembering that they have a say in how they are governed. Remembering that the numbers are in their favor. Remembering that enough voices, raised in solidarity, cannot be ignored.

Across the nation, regular, hard-working, law-abiding citizens are taking a stand. They’re exercising the rights those laws exist to protect. They’re reminding the government and corporations exactly who they answer to. And they want you to join them.

The ‘Occupy Wall Street’  movement, which began with a brave group of young people sleeping in a park, has swelled to thousands. Students, unemployed folks, union members and others who have persevered through intense police harassment and mass arrests are currently engaged in a rolling 24-hour-a-day protest against the bankers who’ve wrecked our economy and undermined our democracy.

Sister protests have sprung up in cities all over the nation. But now, regardless of where you live, there’s a way to show your support.

On Wednesday, October 5th, MoveOn.org will stage a massive “Virtual March on Wall Street” online in partnership with Rebuild the Dream. This action will add hundreds of thousands of voices of solidarity from the American Dream Movement for the protests across the country and show just how widespread outrage at the Wall Street banks really is.

You can see what’s planned in your area by visiting the solidarity site Occupy Together.

And you can sign up to add your voice to the national “Virtual March on Wall Street” online here.

Brothers we need to take it up a level in protest. The governer needs to hear what Bloomburg ignores. We need to join forces with the Abany nra protestors. United we stand people. Divided we are sure to fail. Do you believe in freedom? Then stand together united sperate cause or not the important thing here is direct violations of our constitutional rights.

MoveOn.org is an Obama-based organization and they want to subvert the #Occupy movement. Don't take the bait!!!

nicole, the virtual world presents us with opportunity vast and broad. Global organisation and movement is made possible through virtual-gathering. In the UK a handful of 'young and activist' showed the possibilities of virtual arrangements. It is imperative that there is no physical centre, no interests; This may have been the shortfall of the English-riot. They were caught up in interests and looting. Nevertheless they are a symbol of what we wish to become, although we are reluctant because of the nature of 'their' hearts. If each and everyone of you can earnestly say this is for the world, this is for human kind, this is for change for a better world, then let us proceed. If not, let us not be with tremendous haste because we do not wish this movement, this change, this global wakening to be morphed. What I'm I on about? Who can hijack this? Surely, it is for all. ...Goodevening...

Perhaps part of the problem is people spending too much time in the virtual world instead of getting on the streets and showing their outrage. Time to move beyond "clicktivism" (wish I could take credit for this term, but I actually saw it used in Adbusters) and be real activists.

Wall Street and the government WILL have no choice but to wake up, real fast! They will be defeated because they have ignored the American people for much too long. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!

there is talk of Petaluma and Sebastopol (Northern California) getting into the action here. I will definately be at one or the other! While we are at it...how about stopping the wars that are killing our young people as well as the "collateral "(aka-human beings) overseas?
