Loading...Judge Approves Tennessee Mosque
A judge ruled on November 17 that Muslims can proceed with their plans to build a new mosque and Islamic center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Rutherford County Chancellor Robert Corlew III heard eight days of testimony spread out over a period of two months in a lawsuit seeking to block construction of a 53,000-square-foot complex. The Muslim congregation of about 1,000 says it has outgrown the 2,250-square-foot building that it has been using for around 30 years.
No Laws Have Been Broken
The Chancellor said the mosque’s opponents failed to prove that local government officials broke any laws when they approved the construction of the new mosque. He also stated that there was no evidence that the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro practiced a militant form of Islam or would try to impose Islamic law upon residents of Rutherford County, according to The Tennessean.

Arson And Vandalism
The mosque’s approval passed with little notice last year, but got more attention when someone vandalized a sign at the future site by spraying “Not Welcome.” Next another sign was defaced, and last August someone set fire to heavy construction equipment parked on the mosque site.
Yes, Islam Is A Religion
Earlier, in July, hundreds of angry citizens marched onto Murfreesboro’s public square carrying signs that read “Mosque Leaders Support Killing Converts” and “Islam Is Not A Religion.” This last prompted the federal Department of Justice to issue a statement affirming that yes, Islam is a religion.
Sadly, this controversy is not limited to this small Nashville-area city. The proposed Islamic center near the site of Ground Zero in New York has raised similar challenges, as has the suggestion of a new mosque in Temecula, California.
People Living In Fear And Hatred
How disappointing to know that all around the U.S. are people who live in fear and hatred of their neighbors. For the Muslims seeking to build their new places of worship are not newcomers; in all three cases, local Muslims have been attending their mosque for many years, but they have outgrown their current buildings.
At least the law is on their side and let’s hope, as has happened before, that once the law is enforced, resistant citizens will start to change their minds.

Let's state the facts as they are:
Islam is an IDEOLOGY based on HATE for ALL non-Muslims.
The Koran is a HATE LITERATURE.
In "The Humanitarian Theory of Punishment," C.S. Lewis described Islam as "a Christian heresy."
The reason is that Islam simply does NOT uphold what he calls "The Law of General Beneficence"!
That is, you’re NOT to be charitable EXCEPT to fellow believers.
The unpleasant fact is that Islam simply does NOT teach the 'Golden Rule'.
Jesus' dictum that "whatever you wish that men do to you, do so to them" (Matthew 7:12) appears in virtually EVERY religious tradition on the planet - EXCEPT Islam.
The Koran and Hadith make such a SHARP distinction between believers and unbelievers that there is NO room for any 'commandment of general beneficence'.

This is not a new tactic. Changing of dates and locations of these types of meetings has occurred before and in some cases have been intentional to stifle debate on the issue.

Ayash received a two-year sentence and was ordered to repay more than $300,000 in restitution, according to the Marion County Clerk’s office in Ocala, Fla. The Florida Department of Corrections files show Ayash was released from custody at the Levy Forestry Camp on March 23, 2007.
Guidelines posted on the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro's website state that if a member is convicted of a felony, his or her membership in the mosque can be terminated. Ayash said that rule does not apply to her, since she is on the board. She claims that the mosque's board and other members knew about her past.
"Everyone knows about it and has been supportive," she said.
Saleh Sbenaty, spokesman for the mosque, said he did not know anything about Ayash's past. He said that board members would look into the matter immediately.
Jim Estes, who is suing county officials to block the mosque, said he’d heard rumors of Ayash's past legal troubles but had no further comment.
A lawsuit by opponents of the mosque has been filed according to the Tennessean:
In a complaint filed Thursday afternoon and amended on Friday, opponents say county officials violated Tennessee’s Sunshine Laws when they approved the mosque, failing to give proper public notice and holding a secret pre-meeting about the mosque advocating approval. They say the county approved an illegal burial on the site.

Camie Ayash is a wife, a mother, and a convert to Islam who's been the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro’s face in the media.
She's also a convicted felon.
According to the Florida Department of Corrections, Ayash was jailed from May 2006 to March 2007 for stealing more than $300,000 from a former employer.
"It was something that happened when I was young," said Ayash, 32. "I'm not proud of it. I never claimed to be perfect."
She's been interviewed on CNN by Anderson Cooper and appeared in New York Times and Washington Post articles about the mosque, which has faced opposition as it builds a new location.
Ayash admits she served time but claims it occurred in 2001 or 2002, before she moved to Tennessee and converted to Islam. Records from Marion County Circuit Court in Florida show Ayash, then known as Camie Vernon, was placed on probation in 2003 for theft.
She was arrested on July 8, 2005, in Murfreesboro, on a warrant from Florida. Ayash had been a bookkeeper for the Wishful Thinking Western World clothing store in Ocala, where she took cash from deposits and forged checks.

TY for we need more of your reasonable views to combat the increasing petty intolerence.
These people have a small community, very small. They have been harassed by the local red-necks for years. They are trying to build a multi-purpose building that will serve as church, meeting hall and anything else it needs to be. They are no different than any other small community of people.
