While out boating in the Coral Sea off the Gold Coast of Eastern Australia, friends Ryan, Damian, Naomi, Ramone and Katrina noticed a wallaby “swimming for dear life.” Damian immediately jumped in to rescue him.
Though wallabies have been known to swim short distances in fresh or brackish water, no one knows how this one made his way out to sea or how long he’d been swimming, but this very fortunate wallaby came gently aboard the boat and was taken into the custody of a wildlife center where he is expected to make a full recovery.
