Lawmaker Adds Viagra Amendment To Illinois Ultrasound Bill

Lawmaker Adds Viagra Amendment To Illinois Ultrasound Bill

Illinois State Rep. Kelly Cassidy (D) proposed an amendment to a state mandatory ultrasound bill that would require men watch a graphic video about the side effects of Viagra before legally being able to receive a prescription for it.

The measure is another move for gender equity to the state’s “Ultrasound Opportunity Act” proposed in the House which would require women in Illinois undergo an ultrasound that could be invasive and is medically unnecessary before having an abortion.

Appropriately enough the bill began in the state’s Agriculture Committee.

In a statement to Huffington Post, Cassidy said her amendment should not be dismissed as some simple “protest amendment” given the gravity of what the male lawmakers are proposing. “If they’re serious about us not being about to make our own health care decisions, then I’m just as serious about them not being able to make theirs,” Cassidy said.

This amendment joins a growing list of proposals introduced by female lawmakers who have had enough of legislation taking away the ability of women to make their own reproductive health decisions and the perfect vehicle to call the right on its bluff that anti-choice legislation is about “protecting life”.

Viagra users should have to pay a small fee to Planned Parenthood. And having a woman to swear under oath to their impotence would be really fun!!

I thank it is time we start talking prenatal support! Pregnancy is expensive you miss work have to change wardrobes and still keep a roof, not to mention being sick. Then start talking child support and laws that force men to work over the table if they can’t find a job then they should be forced to work in community service at least 30 hours a week or go to jail until they can pay enough child support to ensure the child has a roof and food, or face jail time. For every anti- abortion or birth control bill their needs to be a prenatal child support and child support amendment that requires both jail time and community service.

HOORAY!!!! As comedian Wanda Sykes said (paraphrasing) every man wanting Viagra should have letters of request from at least three women.

Oh, I am TOTALLY behind this, and I am a MAN! I'll go ya one better: as goes the rules for birth control pills, so should go the rules for erectile dysfunction drugs...or for ANY prescription for men that aids in sexual health or performance. Hey, busybody lawmakers: here ye, here ya: you want to marginalize women's medical solutions which may have even the SIDE EFFECT of enabling sex? Fine, then same has to go for men! Once again: these words are being SPOKEN BY A MAN (who does not need Viagra, btw...my vegan diet and active lifesyle are MY Viagra!)

Using Viagra is stupid, just plain stupid. It's like putting a new flagpole on a decrepit, rotting old building.

Anti-abortion bills did not start when Obama became President. They have been around since Roe vs Wade was first decided. If Sandy E. wants to get government out of her private life, she should not vote Republican. All of these current anti-abortion measures are being put forward by Republicans.

Getting closer to being fair but still a big difference between watching a video and having an ultra sound. Hopefully the men are getting a rectal exam before the Viagra is dispensed ;-)
