Platypus Rescued from Drain (VIDEO)

An adorable one-year-old platypus found himself stuck in a sewage treatment plant in Australia’s New South Wales. The little guy took a wrong turn down a pipe … quite possibly in pursuit of his girlfriend.

But I’m happy to say the rescue effort to free him was a success, and the lucky platypus is expected to make a full recovery. Once he gets a clean bill of health, he’ll be released back into the wild.

My fascination with nature in all it's glory started as a child with pictures (in books remember them) of creatures like the duck billed platypus, the hammer headed shark, both weird and wonderful - we really must not let them or any other creatures disappear.
