Incompetence, while often deadly and tragic, can also make for good late night television. It’s hard to imagine more incompetence than we are seeing in the Gulf. As the Daily Green points out, you can use humor to moderate sadness and anger. So here are a few of the video attempts to make us laugh and cry at the same time.

BP Handles a Coffee Spill
Joe Barton Defends BP and Apologizes to CEO Tony Hayward.
Not meant to be funny, but wow….what can you say? At least the GOP forced him to retract this.
Finally, What if Joe Barton Was a Cute Animated Character?
Would ‘lil’ Joe Barton be funnier if he were a cartoon?
So did any of these videos work, or do you just feel worse?

+ add your ownWas unable to view the videos but have read a number of jokes related to the incident. It's human nature to try to deal with harsh life realities by using humour. Must add, though, that BP may be to blame for the problem to a very huge extent however we all need to take responsibility as we have created the hunger for oil!
good one!

Make a joke out of this Letterman..
Turning this crisis into a joke is a in bad taste, but in some cases maybe humor can help spread the word. I liked the "Coffee Spill" video, even though it probably did nothing to help solve this crisis. It didn't help, but it didn't hurt.
Oh you SOURPUSSES! That was absolutely hilarious when the woman started to burn the coffee!
You know what the problem is: your'e all just pissed off because there's a whole lotta oil in the Gulf and you STILL want your oil.
Drill Baby, Drill!
Now that's irony.
Someone do a sketch on that!
Oh wait.... a Federal Judge in Louisiana just did!
Next thing you know, they'll be passing a law on abortion which makes women sit up and beg, then admit they were sluts!
Bobby Jindal and Republicans (help us, help us! We hate BIG Govmint! Help us!)
Now that's funny....
America's besieged mentality?

Without having some kind of outlet, it's a cause that makes people stressed and depressed. Humor is a good way to become re-focused and start doing what's necessary.
There is nothing about this that's funny.
Humour or no humour, this doesn't change the fact that there's oil everywhere, and even if some people try to make belief that everything is fine now, they are deeply wrong. The problem is still at large, and cannot be shaken off like this. What was destroyed there can, I believe, never be replaced, and that is not something that should be joked about.
Any humor about this horrific situation is in extremely bad taste. Rather than making up cute names for the initials BP, I wish people would use their brains to figure out ways to help this situation, and to avoid any future situations, like petitioning President Obama to change fuels to ETHONOL. The technology has been available for decades. Please don't wait people until it's too late, and the world runs out of petroleum, and we as the human race will be helpless. This is too serious to joke about. Please don't ignore the blatant facts. Please stop blaming and take action. And for goodness sakes, please stop making jokes about this.
