Missouri Rep: Put Aborted Fetus Posters Up In Your Dorm

College dorms used to be the site of parties, study groups, hook ups and breakups. But would a graphic poster of an aborted fetus put a damper on things? One Missouri Republican believes that the dorm is the perfect place to spread anti-abortion messages, from fliers to posters. And, if you feel like you need to use really shocking images to get the point across, well, so be it.

Via Think Progress, Missouri State Rep. Vicki Hartzler spent her Roe V. Wade anniversary encouraging college students to take the fight to their campuses, even the dorms themselves. “Im a big believer in visuals…Most Americans learn through pictures and so if you have some brochures that you leave on the table at your dorm or put it on the bulletin board by the elevator of a growing baby. Now some people put the picture of the aborted fetus, that gets your attention too.

Putting up anti-choice, graphic pictures in a living area, where students will be forced to look at them daily, doesn’t seem likely to win friends, or many converts to the cause. But if nothing else, at least it’s targeting a captive demographic that is actually old enough to understand the issue, as opposed to those who advocate accosting elementary schools and other places where young children gather.

But, maybe if nothing else it might dissuade a student or two from that next hook up, or a night of drinking. I can’t think of anything that would be more mood-killing to either activity than accidentally ending up face to face with a gross anti-abortion poster staring you in the face.

Chaplain A.: There's no such thing as an abortionist! That's a made-up word by zealot anti-choicers like you.

I fully agree with CC & I thing this is a very stirring action. There is absolutely nothing wrong with showing the reality of what abortion really is: killing a baby.

Consider how hard abortionists fight to keep the truth from desperate women:

-don't show them ultrasounds
-don't let them hear the heartbeat
-don't talk to them about the permanent damage they are doing to their physical, mental & emotional selves
-don't tell them when they want a baby later they may be unable to have one
-& certainly don't let them know they are killing a living child.

Abortionists like to keep the truth in the dark. This is a fine way to shed a little light on the subject.

Christ keeps all these unwanted little ones. Those who support this crime should pray for forgiveness.

pro lifers shouldnt be forcing this issue through propaganda

everyone has a choice when it comes to their bodies and no one not even pro lifers have the right to say they don't.

for example a woman who is the product of rape should be forced to keep her attackers baby? And then for the rest of her life is reminded every day of the trauma she was put through.

Along with all the aborted fetuses, should go the starving and deseased children around the world, who have no one to feed, clothe, and support them.

Is reminding people of the choice to adopt anti choice?

I have found that most women are "protected" from the truth about how developed their baby is. They therefore go through with an abortion (often whilst trying to disassociate from the situation). Then they realize too late what they have done. It's not fair that they have to live with this forever. Especially when it is sometimes forced upon them by partners, family, friends and society. These women suffer real and preventable psychological harm.

Some women I have come across who wish to abort is for convenience sake. No-one would ever say that out loud, and we wouldn't say that to the woman, but it does come down to that. Having the baby, will upset their lives too much, for whatever reason.

Adoption is a real option for this. I don't think we'll get too many babies in dumpsters. We have too many people finding it impossible to get pregnant via IVF, so I'm pretty sure we'd find some loving homes for them.

Yeah babies are people from the get go. They should have rights too. Just like when a person loses their baby in a car accident and has the right to charge the at fault driver for manslaughter.

Go back to 4th grade science. ALL species kill their sick or deformed offspring, for the sake of the health and existence of that species.

We are the only ones that force mothers to have and care for defective children.

If you are that ignorant on this subject, what else don't you know?

8:20AM PST on Jan 29, 2012

Why is it offensive here? Why would anyone object to what a human baby looks like? It's A Baby, isn't it? Or is that the problem. People don't want to face the FACT that it is a Baby that IS being Killed. Abortion is the worst kind of Murder and yet it has been given laws condoning it. No Species Kills its own off spring; just humans
