Modern Family Cast Supports GLSEN’s Safe Space Campaign (VIDEO)

The cast of the award-winning ABC sitcom “Modern Family” have recorded a PSA to promote GLSEN’s Safe Space campaign.

The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) wants every school to create a “safe-space,” a designated classroom or place where LGBTs and all bullied youth can go to learn free from harassment, and where they can get help to combat bullying.

Watch the Modern Family video below explaining the Safe Space campaign:

In order to support adults in setting up safe spaces, GLSEN has created the Safe Space Kit. More information can be found at http://www.SafeSpaceKit.com.

Facebook, in conjunction with Time Warner, GLSEN, CNN and many more organizations, also recently released a social application that allows users to pledge they will stand up to bullying. The application also provides resources for bullying victims and adults who want to help those they feel might be being bullied. Click here to learn more.

In our local public and private school systems they already have an anti bulling implementation in force. There is no funding from any "specific" organization. It was implemented to help children deal with bulling in the classroom and school atmosphere.

I think they have it backwards. There should be a designated zone into which the bullies are confined. It is impossible to create 'safe zones' for each class of people who are bullied since any variation from the bullies own ideas of right and proper can serve as a catalyst. Separating and by extension humbling the bullies should deliver satisfactory results. It will work! After all, Australia started out as a penal colony and then matured into a civilized society!
