Morning Mix: Are Mitt Romney And Ron Paul Becoming BFF?

Morning Mix: Are Mitt Romney And Ron Paul Becoming BFF?

Hard to believe that it’s almost March and we’re contemplating former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santroum as the Republican presidential nominee but here we are. Gallup’s daily tracking poll has Santorum practically pulling away with the race with an 8 point lead over former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

The new-found popularity has given Santorum some swagger. Over the weekend he attacked the president for policies that encouraged aborting disabled babies and for the eradication of public education.

Feeling the need to do some damage control over the recent anti-woman platform the party has adopted, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) swears the party is “extremely pro-woman.” Bachmann did not elaborate on how they are a pro-woman party, nor did she offer any examples. Just trust her.

Maine finally finished voting and while it looks like Rep. Ron Paul picked up more votes, it was not enough to unseat Romney’s victory. But if you think the “honest rape” candidate is going anywhere, think again. Paul reminded the American public that delegates are not necessarily guaranteed votes at the convention and that he plans to press ahead. Considering how he’s cozying up to the Romney camp you know Paul has something he’s looking to leverage. The question is going to be, what?

Romney has every need to keep Paul’s delegates close should this Santorum surge continue. But what exactly is the great white fauxbertarian hope doing getting cuddly with the candidate of the plutocrats Romney? Well, they share a certain anti-immigrant, anti-woman zeal, so we know there’s common ground, but the alliance calls into question Paul’s fortitude on fiscal policy.

I wonder who will be the flip-flopper here?

The troll said "LB D YOUR A TROLL and a ugly at that"

ROTFLMAO.

I'm betting that most find an emerald to present an ever so much more pleasant appearance than does a frog or toad.

Jan, while I understand and share your frustrations, I also understand that a US President cannot make others follow where he leads.

As for the sovereignty of the people, this they unfortunately delegated to a number of representatives sufficient for thwarting the doing of working for the people, such having chosen instead to work only for their own political gain.

It must be understood that very many Republicans seek only to protect the ability of businesses to have free rein without regard for the rights of and harms to others.

They are the new Robber Barons, intent on making all others their serfs.

Doug.... Thank you for letting me in on your w’s. I really like it and that you have stuck with it. Very cool.

LD....I know that we don’t have a dictatorship but have you forgotten we the people are the sovereignty here. The neither the House or the Senate run this country, they work for us and unless the people start yelling and screaming nothing will change. We do however need a President that will lead us and that is something Obama isn’t doing. I voted for him. I thought he was going to be the change and the new light for our politicians to follow. I was very sadden to see it is the same ole same ole. Why aren’t our troops home? Why are we in more wars? We need to fix here first before we can help anyone else. I have no loyalty to any party, I only care about this great country and that we get America back to were it belongs.

Craig....Your very welcome. I just call them as I see them.

Disagreement will not change the fact that Obama is a US President, not Dictator, and cannot forcibly gain control of either house.

The Republicans have made it publicly clear that they are intentionally being obstructionists. What about that is so difficult for you and others to understand?

Eugene said "LD B said, " Eugene fails to understand the distinction between having Party control of the operation of the Senate, and having the necessary super-majority for forcing Floor votes. "Typical neo-con sophistry." As a leftist, LD just naturally throws out nasty, unsupported allegations."

Eugene's own words re. "control" speak for themselves.

If he now claims that he does understand such distinctions, then it remains the case that he is deliberately ignoring such as is convenient for the moment.

Hence, he is a sophist.
