Morning Mix: Let’s Go Bowling!

Rick Santorum, you just won the Louisiana primary, what will you do next?

Why, he’s going bowling!

Yes, it’s time to play “he’s a guy I’d have a beer with,” one of the most well-known game in any presidential race. And what better place to do it than Wisconsin, the state of beer, cheese and fireworks?

Santorum made a pit stop on the campaign trail to bowl a few frames, and it turns out, he’s really quite good.

He started off by taking a jab at the president. “You compare that to President Obama bowling. I’m not going to need the bumpers. We’re going to go out. And you’re going to have someone who knows how to bowl, someone who grew up like you grew up, someone who believes what you believe, and someone who will fight like you will fight to make sure this country is free and safe and prosperous.”

Then he proved his boast. “After knocking down eight pins in his first frame, Mr. Santorum proceeded to bowl three straight strikes: a turkey.”

But the campaign trail isn’t all fun and lanes. It’s hard work, too. So he’s stepping in to assist Gov. Scott Walker’s recall campaign. “Of course I’m looking forward to doing whatever I can. I think we’re going to maybe try to swing by throughout the week one of the call centers here to try to help the governor and his effort. As someone who understands tough political fights and someone who stood up to the establishment as this governor has done, we want to give every bit of support we can to someone who has the courage to confront the tough issues. And it shows you we’re willing to do the same kind of thing in Washington DC.”

Santorum was also visiting the Americans for Prosperity conference. Too bad he wasn’t able to get his picture taken with the Grim Reaper — that one would have been a keeper.

There's only one way that someone like Santorum could knock down this many pins---his aides painted faces of poor people on the pins to give him motivation.

Santorum wants a free country, but only for Christian men, and he wants to stand up against big government like Gov. Walker has done. But Walker stood up against the wishes of the people of Wisconsin, hence the recall now. This implies that Santorum wants to stand up against the wishes of the majority of the American people? There is something wrong here.

Teresa C - your comments had me in stitches! But, they are accurate as well. Can't add much, you said it most all that needs to be said. Santorum is forgetting (conveniently) that Obama grew up way poor with a single mom who qualified for food stamps, so don't be pullin' the "I was poorer than you" card on this president - cause you weren't.

Oh swell, he thinks because he can bowl better than the President, that puts him in good standing to better know the people as he grew up like them, believes like them, and will fight like the people fight????????????? Beware the Republicans!!
