Naughty Squirrel Nabbed!

A very naughty squirrel that had been causing havoc and mayhem in Oklahoma, has been caught! After having a good run, and causing an estimated $700 worth of damage, the Sheriff finally got his man, or in this case, squirrel. Not to worry though, the squirrel, who even had a Twitter feed, has been pardoned and will be moved to a much better location.

Why was the Sheriff so happy to finally nab the naughty rodent? The squirrel, nicknamed Chewy the Scofflaw Squirrel, seemed to get his kicks chewing patrol cars!

The Oklahoma County sherriff’s Twitter page (@OKCountySheriff) sent a tweet after the apprehension saying ‘Your run is officially over!’, followed soon after by a tweet from the squirrel (@OKCBadSquirrel) saying ‘I was framed I tell ya! You have the wrong rodent!’ A later tweet even demanded a ‘court-appointed lawyer’.

It took them 2 weeks to finally capture the vandalizing rodent, but the sheriff finally got his “man”! Good luck in the great wild yonder, Chewy, and stay away from those patrol cars!

No he turned in two rats and an escaped Macaw for the federal witness protection program and a winter's worth of nuts.

Now they only have to worry about what he taught the other squirrels that are left behind.
