Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich may be the perfect candidate for president this cycle. After all, who can better understand the economic struggle of many Americans than a man who is bouncing checks?
Gingrich is trying to cash in on Rick Santorum’s recent exit from the nomination race. But that could get even harder now that it’s unclear if he will be on the ballot in the Utah primary. The check his campaign wrote to pay the fee didn’t clear.
The Hill reports, “GOP presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich might fail to appear on the Utah primary ballot after a check for the required filing fee bounced, according to media reports. The check for $500 bounced on March 27, Utah state election director Mark Thomas told ABC News, which first reported the story. ‘Our office immediately attempted to contact the campaign and the designated agent but no phone calls were returned,’ said Thomas, according to ABC.”
Hmm, maybe he had his phone lines canceled for insufficient funds, too?
Looks like Gringrich may need to start hustling more $50 photos if he plans to make ends meet for much longer.
