The Lemon Bay Kayakers of Venice, Florida worked together to free an entangled Barred owl they came across during a 13 mile paddle down the Peace River. The owl was found hanging in the trees above Horse Creek and bringing him down safely was no small task.
The staff at Wredes Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Sebring, Florida came out to retrieve the owl and reported that although he’s still a bit weak in one wing, they do expect him to make a full recovery. The owl will be released once he is fully healed.
