Raising An Orphaned Fruit Bat By Hand – VIDEO

Raising An Orphaned Fruit Bat By Hand – VIDEO

Here’s an amazing video of an orphaned short-tailed fruit bat being hand-raised by dedicated animal lovers at Bat World Sanctuary.

The mother of the tiny bat, known as “Lil’ Drac,” was rescued after a zoo closure. The stress of this transfer caused her to abandon her baby. So Lil’ Drac was raised by Bat World Sanctuary volunteers in their headquarters in Mineral Wells, Texas.

Fascinating to see how such a tiny creature can be raised by humans.

Bats should be more respected. If they disappear, it will be a great loss. On the other hand, it is fascinating to see how well they can evolve when being taken care of by man.

Bats are so misunderstood and mistreated. They have helped mankind by eating disease-carrying insects and pests (although I realize the particular bat featured here is a fruit bat). Thanks for caring for this amazing creature.
