Nevada Senate Candidate: Rape and Incest Part of “God’s Plan”

Today, the HuffingtonPost reported that Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle opposes abortion, even in cases of incest and rape because a pregnancy resulting from such violent acts is part of “God’s plan.”  Angle made her statement during the broadcast of the Bill Manders Show, a local on air haven for conservative candidates, especially those hiding from establishment media like Angle has been.

While Angle’s views on abortion are extreme and contrary to all public opinion research, it is hardly Angle’s only extreme political position. Angle has associated herself with the Declaration Alliance which aligns itself with an anti-homosexual agenda and the Minute Men.  Angle also favors the elimination of Social Security, Medicare, the Department of Education and continues to advocate for deregulating the oil industry–even after the BP oil spill.

Angle also told Bill Manders that the Bill of Rights might authorize “2nd Amendment remedies” if Harry Reid is re-elected. And she ominously told the local paper that Americans are stocking up on ammunition in case an insurrection is needed.

Here is a list of a few others from Nevada Progress Now’s WrongAngle.com website devoted to documenting Angle’s extreme views:

Angle is largely motivated by two things: extreme fiscal conservatism, having collected her millions from Grover Norquist’s anti-tax group, Club for Growth and fusing her conservative religious beliefs and political policy.

In Nevada, we’ve known just how extreme Angle is for years thanks to her persistent state political career. But now that she’s running for a high profile Senate seat thanks to the implosion of the Republican establishment candidate Sue Lowden, the rest of you are in for a real treat.

But what bothers me the most about Angle’s “God’s plan” comment is that she’s claiming that rape and incest are part of “God’s plan” as well, not just the pregnancy that results from such heinous acts. Guess what, my god doesn’t make plans that result in unspeakable acts of violence and abuse and, no matter what, nobody’s god should play a role of political policy. When you inject your god into politics, you cheapen your own beliefs.

I'd like to know one simple thing. No one seems to be able to answer this.
If there is a separation of church and state, then why is it that all the politicians state God or Faith in their speeches or opinions? If it is illegal to have the lines blurred, then why is it on American money, our constitution? I wish some one would just stand up and say "ENOUGH"
I have my own faith and beliefs of God. But Im dammed sick and tired of having so much imposed upon my rights as an American, by the double standards, and the back stabbing of our politicians. They are supposed to be working for us, but they sell us out, and they smile while doing it.
Get it together folks.

Just goes to show that religious people should not be involved in society or religion. No matter what their religion is called! I stand by my view that religion is an opium for the people.

To Dan R:

MAN NOT GOD created rape and the ill-mannered views that any society has against women. God loves us enough to give us free-will, but just because we are entitled to free will DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE CAN GO AROUND HURTING PEOPLE BECAUSE OF WHO AND WHAT THEY ARE. If that is the case then, women SHOULD have the right to hurt or even kill men for their money b/c they make more money than women. After all, why should women live in poverty b/c they are women and make less money than men for doing the same work even if they both have the same degree?

But why does the party of "small government" and personal freedom change direction when it involves women and reproductive rights?

You know Sarah Palin is also against abortion even for rape or incest because of her religious beliefs. This woman is even crazier with her views. This yet another example of how their faith in God makes them unfit to hold any public office since it prevents them from making intelligent decisions. Our founding fathers knew the dangers of mixing religion and politics and that's why they made it clear there should be a separation between church and state. Republicans prey on the most ignorant religious groups to try to get themselves elected. The ironic part is their own "values" are usually worse than that of a liberal. And lets not forget G.W. Bush's assertion that God wanted him to "liberate" the Iraqi people even if it meant killing a million innocent people. These self proclaimed good Christians have no business in politics as their views are filled with hate and bigotry.

Sharon Angle needs some special psychological treatment, she must know that all evils are on human side, God had never been supportive towards evil designs, and he will never be. It is against God's ability to go with Evil.God says SATAN is in your blood if you follow he will overpower you, its up to you to remain under influence of evil or God.

apparently she has taken down such things as abolishing the IRS from her site, and putting nuclear plants in YUKA mountain. May want to take those links down or fix them if they are broken. Most I clicked on showed that content no longer there.

Guess she figured it was too contraversial to keep them up.

Oh Jesus Christ, if it's all in god's plan then rapists should never be convicted of a crime - nor should anyone, no matter how heinous, for we cannot punish someone who was just doing what god wanted them to do, right? And then how can it not be in god's plan for a 13 y/o to abort a fetus that resulted from incestuous rape,a heinous crime, no matter how heinous abortion is to Angle? This woman doesn't sound like she had a brain, much... *gulp* I wonder if she just can't think clearly in general or if it is only related to gender issues that she can't think clearly?
