Horses in the U.S. are still in serious trouble despite the last slaughter plants closing in 2007. While the slaughter industry is still trying to convince people that they’re business is a “necessary evil,” opponents are working tirelessly on the other side to prevent horses from an unthinkable demise.
H.R. 503, the Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act, still lays waiting to be decided while Congress is on its two-week spring break, which makes this is a great time to contact your federal legislators and ask them to cosponsor this bill if you haven’t already.
