Scary Images Of An Eagle Owl Swooping On Its Prey (Video)

Check out this amazing video of an eagle owl in action!

In case you haven’t met one of these before, the eagle owl is a very large and powerful bird, smaller than a golden eagle but larger than a snowy owl. It’s a little over two feet long, with a wingspan of around five feet.

These birds are not native to the U.S.: they are found in Europe and Russia, where they live on mountain cliffs, ravines and rocky forested terrain, although they are becoming rare.

They are also very fierce, and presumably terrifying to small mammals, if this video is anything to go by!

I must protest this title! What is it in this culture that insists that the natural order of things is "scary"? What's really scary is the industrial world's disenfranchisement with the very world that makes their existence possible.

Looks more like it was staged and pouncing on someone's toes. I confess, amazing shot none the less.
