Shocking Video: Man Throws Little Dog Off Hotel Balcony

Shocking Video: Man Throws Little Dog Off Hotel Balcony

Imagine watching a small doggie crate plummet from a second story hotel balcony, knowing a little dog is inside. That’s what stunned witnesses saw, and what the police had trouble believing — until they saw the hotel surveillance video that captured it all.

Marcell Sibley, 29, reportedly was angry at his little Yorkshire Terrier. He’d taken it for a walk on June 27th, but it hadn’t yet done its business when he headed back toward his room. The hotel surveillance video shows that the dog apparently waited to relieve itself until it was nearly back at Sibley’s room. For some reason, Sibley told police later, he just “snapped.”

The video shows a man believed to be Sibley grabbing the poor dog by the neck and slapping it as he enters his room. Moments later, he re-emerges holding the dog crate with the Yorkie inside. Angrily, he flings it over the balcony to the concrete below. Horrified witnesses called 911. The incident occurred at an extended-stay hotel in Marietta, Ga.

“I think it takes a sick individual to mistreat a little animal. I don’t care if it’s a dog or cat or whatever,” Don Dugan, another resident of the hotel, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

See the Fox5 News report of this story, which includes the hotel surveillance footage, here:

After the crate smashed onto the ground, witnesses say Sibley came down, picked up the debris, and threw it — dog and all — into a dumpster. He then reportedly left the scene. He was later located and arrested at his home.

One of the witnesses pulled the smashed crate and the dog out of the dumpster. Police determined the Yorkie was still alive, but it had blood on its mouth, was not moving and had broken legs. Cobb County Animal Control is now caring for the dog.

“Animals are just like children,” Marietta Police Officer David Baldwin told Fox5 News. “They’re innocent and they’re helpless and they really require all of our help to make sure that we care for them and take care of them, and when you see something as tragic as this, it really tugs at the heart strings.”

Initially there were fears that the little Yorkie had spinal injuries and might not make it. Fortunately, according to Cobb County Animal Control, the dog will make a full recovery. They say the Yorkie is “doing fine and gets lots of TLC.”

Sibley has been charged with felony aggravated animal cruelty, which in Georgia carries a possible penalty of one to five years in prison.

With a little luck, the Yorkie’s next stop will be a loving new forever home.

Arger management............hell no tail time for Marcell Sibley they can try anger management in Jail.I did have 2 Yorkies, Jedi & Dixie Lee.I still have thank God little Jedi with me now. When I had to go into the hospital and I had asked my brother who I had not seen for 25 years because he moved to Texas. Now he is home after all those years and with me loosing contract with him and hhis attitude.I was in the hospital for 4 weeks 9 months ago and he called me up and told me little Dixie Lee (about 4 pounds) has a sesior & died.I went almost crazy being in the hospital where I could not go home to find out what happened, the real truth. He told me he buried her in my back yard.I could not sleep are eat.A frw times I caught him in a couple of lies.I finally talked my doctors to let me go home with a promise I would go & stay with someone. When I finally got to go back into my home I was sick to find out the things he did.He my brother separated my 2 yorkies.Put Dixie Lee in the kitchen all by herself with a baby gate with no food are her bed.
She died of not being fed not having me around, not having Jedi with her,no food and I am not sure if she had water. If I Ever see him I will go off on him.I told my brother he better stay away from me.This to me was a Harsh way for a 6 year old breeding dog to die.I was all she knew because she was always in a crate for breeding.I still have my precious Jedi.

I am not holding my breath that Sibley will get jail time but he should be made to take an anger management course as part of his sentence for his crime, and be given a fine hefty enough to hurt his hip pocket to make him stop and reflect on his callous action towards another living creature. Thank you to the witness who cared enough to rescue the Yorkie and report the matter to the police. It would great to get an update that the dog has made a full recovery and found his loving forever home.

The video is no longer available but the story is still there. I am not, by nature, a violent person but I don't think that I could've held back if I had witnessed this incident! I'd like to think that I'd rush to the puppy first but, I'm not sure. The man is a sick, brutal scum bag.

I'm relieved this video is no longer available. Had I seen it I would probably have gone postal.
As far as his abuser goes, just wipe his nasty a$$ off the face of this earth, forever. One less animal abuser in the world is just fine by me.

So glad this pup is going to survive. Hopefully by now he will have found his forever home with someone who will love and cherish him always.
