Sh*t Homophobes Say (VIDEO)

368 comments Sh*t Homophobes Say (VIDEO)

Lambda Legal, continuing the “Sh*t People Say” video meme that has drawn both kudos and concern, released a video this week based on the nonesense that homophobic and anti-gay figures say — the difference between this and the other videos being this is real footage of real people saying, well, really dumb and really bigoted things.

Appearances from Michele and Marcus Bachmann, Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, and quite a few others:

@ Jackie A. when the people on a video have less brains than a pollywog, that is the result totally idiotic nonsense, which is usually hilarious because of the stupidity.

Every single person I've known in my life who's tried so hard to say and do what you've done in this forum has later come out of the closet. Again, no one can be that obsessed with homosexuals and not be gay him or her self. Some of the worst, hateful, bigoted, vile, mean, nasty, and violent individuals I've met have all been people who claim to be christian and try to use bible versus which were written by human men by the way, to simply make an attempt to win an argument. Just the other night I heard on the news that bombs went off in Northern Ireland. It's the Catholics and Protestants all over again. And this all has to do with RELIGION!!! As John Lennon said "Imagine a world with "no religion too"".

Vernon C said: "Homosexuality is sexual, or the attraction to the same sex for intimate reasons."

Sorry Vernon...then it would be no different to say that "hetrosexuality" is strictly "sexual". Again, you confuse "sex" with "sexuality". My relationship with my long-term partner is more than just "sex". It's simply just being together...I love him with all my heart as he loves me. It's who we are as a whole person, not just what we do in bed.

A person can be homosexual and celibate just as a hetrosexual can be celibate.

Vernon said: "And never compare race with homosexuality. It is like comparing apples & oranges. Race is the person himself. That can never be changed. It goes beyond color. It is the core of who a person is. It is a culture & an integral concept of the body & mind. Homosexuality is only a preference of desire."

When people are comparing being African American to gay (example), I truly believe most are not doing so from the sake of comparing race to being gay...but from the stance "bigotry is bigotry" no matter how one tries to slice it or dice it, it's bigotry. Me being gay is also the "CORE" of who I am as a whole. I knew that I had attractions for men way far back as I can remember...like 5 years old...even before I knew it had a name for it! And again, I was raised in a wonderful family where I am the only gay person out of 5 kids!

Would that mean that aid for countries is bad or wrong, or just that some unscrupulous people is using that medium to take advantage of the situation?

If the King pleases the Church head (give him what he want) then the church head would give "God's blessings" to the invasion. Most likely it is usually just 1 or 2 so-called "christians" who endorse the invasions. But now the King or leader would go out there & rally his people because "God is behind him, & "it is a fight for righteousness", & all that. Just politics.

When G.W Bush was in power & Bin Laden was living, the same propaganda was being preached. "God is behind us" & "Allah will win". In fact even now it is still being preached. C'mon, in reality the war was because America wanted oil & Bin Laden was a bloody terrorist who murder innocent people. God & Allah, my foot.

So do not get brainwashed by historical blatherings. Those books were also written by men who interpreted history as THEY saw it. In essence, religion oppresses noone. It is individual but powerful, unscrupulous people who use religion for their own ends & it is they who do the oppressing.

It is like a country needing aid after some disaster & many countries & organisations coming together to send aid. But when the food & money & aid arrive, some of the people in charge steal some of it. Or when females come for help they tell the females that they have to sleep with them in order to get food or help. Would that mean that aid for countries is bad or wrong, or just that some unscrupulous people is using that medium to take advantage

But from the time that you begin to relax your discipline & you start creating excuses in order to accede to your physical urges & inclinations, then you fail.

You speak of the oppression of religion. Oppression only comes from man & those who control. There are some who will use religion who are not christian at all. Ok, lets look at the oppression thru-out history where it is said that religion was behind it. In all instances there was a politician, whether King or president or whatever u wish to call him, & it is he & his consultants who made the decisions if to invade or go to war or to raise taxes or whatever. He ran the country. In the event that he decides to go to war, he did what George Bush, Bin Laden & all these mnodern leaders still do. He tried to get the approval of the people because it is not HE who is going to war, but the sons & daughters of the "common" man.

To do that he has to find the common thread that run thru the land to incite the people to make them go to war or invade. He has to rally his people. And what is that common thread that he will use to rally his people? Why, God of course. Religion. So he would go to the head of the church (Archbishop maybe if we are speaking of English history) who in most cases is also a politician, as in most instances he was placed there by the King, & they would confer. If the King pleases the Church head (give him what he want) then the church head would give "God

Dr. C

Wow! Finally you said something that I agree PARTLY with. Actually I am not the total Christian in the sense of how people understand it to mean. I am actually spiritual. Religion is controlled spirituality. I follow the raw form of spirituality.

That being said, the Bible & christianity are still potent aspects of God. As controlled as religion may be, I believe that it is still God's link with his people & it teaches us about him. As such tho I consider myself spiritual, christianity is my base. I have proven the power of the Bible for myself & also of christianity.

And we do need control. Without control there is chaos. Can you imagine a world with no laws & rules? Can you imagine a universe with no law sat all? As I keep saying, every aspect of God's creation is based on laws & rules, from simple gravity to all the laws of physics, chemistry, life, & the universe for that matter. Logic dictates that God will also give man laws. There is no free-for-all in life at all & individuals are never the ones who set the laws for themselves. There is always some authority that set laws & rules, whether popular or unpopular, that embodies everyone.

It is alright for any one to decide to bypass the set religious principles...but only if you are discipline enough & critical of yourself enough that you can recognize the failings within yourself & implement your own laws that is stringent enough to satisfy scrutiny. But from t

(@Vernon C.) Is all you have left for position but to insert words in my mouth?

I never said "GOD" endorsed slavery. I simply stated the fact that the writings of your professed religion endorse slavery, no matter how kindly you wish to paint it.

Religions and "GOD" are two distinctly separate things. My religious leanings are that of the "deist" which means that my church is the one provided by creation, that being of course the chapel between my ears.

In my system of belief "GOD" existed long before any organized religion and the attending oppression it embodies.
