We’ve all heard about puppy mills that supply those sweet little puppies in pet stores.
Well, this video documents a raid of a puppy mill in North Carolina — a state that, for the second year in a row, failed to pass a bill aimed at combating puppy mills by regulating commercial dog breeders.
Below, see what the inside of a puppy mill looks like and how the dogs are treated. And after watching it, I hope you’ll never consider buying an animal from a pet store or breeder again. Always adopt!

I can't watch this
make puppy mills illegal i mean completely loop hole proof
This horror MUST END! Please, adopt from a shelter! There are so many precious animals waiting, hoping for a loving home. All they want is to give the love they have, which is boundless. Don't perpetuate this horror by buying an animal from a pet store. Save a life! Help to shut down these houses of horror once and for all.
Just horrible and heart-breaking... ALL puppy mills need to be stopped NOW!
There are already too many abused and neglected pets out there. Until we can feasibly correct the problem, breeding for money is just plain and purely greedy. This needs to stop. NOW. Get the animals out of the shelters and rescues, and then only certain places should be allowed to sell, and only when it's done responsibly.
If humans are supposed to be considered the dominant species for having emotions, intelligence, and etc.. (which animals have to >.
And again, all about the money.. greed, greed.. using animals for thier own greedy purpose.. not thinking about what it takes to handle the overwhelming task that they created.. these are living, breathing animals.. this is a sickening way to make a living.. these poor animals are wasting away in cages.. while others are being made.. and waiting to be bought and sold.. and like any other commodity.. nothing more than an inatimate object.. so they can just be tossed aside if not sold.. because it is just business.. no disregard for the life they have.. they MEAN NOTHING TO THE BREEDERS BUT DOLLAR SIGNS.. AND THAT WILL ALWAYS CONTINUE UNTIL THE HAVE STRICTER REGULATIONS IN PLACE.. Nothing will ever change.. only get worse..
Ellyn S, good point. We set up our rescue pugs at 3 different Petco's each month. If there is a breed of dog, there is a rescue for it. There are SIX pug rescues in the state of Florida alone. Most rescues have all health issues addressed and fixed, up to date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, and each dog is in a foster home to determine temperament and the right home for that dog. We are NOT making money off this. We are constantly begging for money and looking for new ways to raise funds.
Some people WILL want a pure bred puppy. Nothing wrong with that. Lets just get the big operations shut down. The puppy mills and backyard breeders. Cut the numbers of dogs to be bred by one person/facility, surprise inspections, no being allowed to shoot the dogs (like the Amish do in PA). There are ways to do this. Even stricter regulations for pit bull owning, breeding and still even tougher sentences for dog fighting. this is all a no brainer. lets not give up until all of this is done. The measly little changes they made are not enough. TOO SMALL a step. Do not elect animal haters.
