Top 10 Wackiest Dog And Cat Names For 2012

While “Bella” and “Max” topped the list of the most popular pet names, thousands of pet guardians opt for more original and unusual names for their four-legged companions. Each year, Veterinary Pet Insurance Co. (VPI), celebrates these uniquely and cleverly named cats and dogs with a contest.

VPI’s database scours the names of more than 485,000 insured pets and narrows down the most unusual 50 dog names and 50 cat names. A vote is then taken to determine the top 10 Wackiest Dog and Cat Names. Following are the 2012 winners:

While monikers like Stinker Belle and Vincent Van Furrball might sound odd, they are also a reflection of what makes each pet unique and special to their family.”

All my life I've had cats, with an assortment of names from the dignified to the ludicrous, but now I am considering getting a female dog. I already know I will name her Payback ;-)

my friend leah named her cat Arnold Yoda Bosephus Loudmouth III (Arnold because it suited him, Yoda because he had big ears, Bosephus because it sounded cool, Loudmouth because of obvious reasons, and the III because it sounded sophisticated) I kid you not

Some of this are too funny. My daughter has three cats... Boots, Turbo (nicknamed Bobo) and Simba (nicknamed Booba). Both of these nicknames came from granddaughter when she was learning to talk and they have stuck. Boots, Bobo and Booba.... it's a little confusing at their house lol.
