When you walk into a children’s toy store you see a clear separation between the boys and girls toys. Pink for the girls on one side; blue for the boys on another.
Can you imagine that such a separation exists well into adulthood?
Well, take a look at the following “women friendly” (aka sexist) products to see the tired pink gender stereotypes played out for women consumers today.
1. Fujitsu “Flora Kiss” Laptop
The Fujitsu Japanese company has created a line of laptops exclusively for women that comes in colors like feminine pink, elegant white and luxury brown. According to the website, the laptop features a flip latch to easily open the display, “even by users with long fingernails.”
The laptop has other “feminine” touches like a pearl accented power button, diamond-cut stones on the caps lock key and gold trim on the keyboard. The laptop also comes with custom-designed applications including a digital scrapbook, personalized diary and daily horoscope.
Who knew women needed pearl and diamond accents to operate a laptop?

2. Bic For Her Pens
When women aren’t using their feminine pink “Flora Kiss” laptop and need to jot down some notes they can use Bic’s new Cristal For Her Ball Pens. With an “elegant design” and a “thin barrel to fit a woman’s hand” these pens, which come in an array of pastel colors, are perfect for any woman’s dainty hands.
Ellen Degeneres’s reaction to this product is just priceless:
3. Honda Fit For Women Car
Now, if a woman needs to actually leave her house she need not look any further for the perfect mode of transportation.
Enter the Honda Fit for Women†car.
The car is a version of the Japanese company’s Fit compact car that has been specifically designed for women. It’s pink (of course) and did you know that driving around in this little number can actually improve your skin and prevent wrinkles?
Yes, you read that right. The car has an air conditioner that pumps out specially treated air for a woman’s skin. Car and facial in one!

4. Chick Beer
Having a ladies night with your best girlfriends?
Hop into your Honda Fit for Her car and pick up a case of Chick Beer for the party. This premium light beer is the only American beer that is created just for women. The beer is lightly carbonated “because women generally aren’t as fond of belching as men are.”
The creators say the beer industry has exclusively marketed beer to men (which I agree with), but marketing to women doesn’t have to mean using pink and feminine fonts.

5. Cadbury Crispello Chocolate Bar for Women
Every woman likes chocolate, right?
Well Cadbury has released a new chocolate bar called Crispello specifically designed for women. The “little treat for you” is a mix of chocolate and wafer. It only has 165 calories and comes in three parts for snacking.
At least this product isn’t wrapped in pink, but still give me a bag of peanut M&Ms or peanut butter cups any day and I’ll eat them all in one sitting thank you very much.
