I find it very concerting that I am being considered a "Conspiratorial." promoter. Look once again at my submission. I made no accusation but merely an observation. I bow to your personal knowledge of the circumstances of this episode. As I live on the other side of the world I cannot verify your certification of the event. However your own submission verified my observation that it was, if only in part, a re-enactment. The news item was presented as if it was a spontaneous happening when clearly from your presented knowledge that it was not. The lady in question had been cleaned up and hair dressed, brought back to the site for the dog to be, conveniently, resurrected. Pardon my scepticism, experience of war, and in the field of photo journalism, makes one more than a little judgemental.

I would add that once again from unwanted personal involvement in natural catastrophe
that the ridiculous attribution of some imaginary religious figure's personal intervention in saving one person and her dog doesn't take into account the the same entity must have been the cause of the phenomena which killed and maimed the others. Guess they prayed to the wrong fella. Same thing happened here in a bush fire that killed my
(Methodist) neighbour, whilst the elderly couple (Russian Orthodox) down the road, who were saved by a couple of "Bush" workers, gave thanks to their God.

Happy ending!

BTW, dogs when traumatized sometimes go catatonic.

I remember seeing the 'corpse' of a dog in the middle of a San Antonio street, and a wife urging her husband to push it with a broom. He did, and the dog got up and ran, presumably home.

When i saw the dog discovered and rescued during her interview, some tears rolled down my cheeks. It was apaprent how much her pet meant to her. goes to show, happy endings do hapen now and then.

Thank god, the little dog was allright. I wonder why it was so quiet. I'd have expected him to jump for joy. Weird behaviour from what I know of dogs.

Tom E. The reason that lady looked "remarkably clean" is that she was not "just emerging from the rubble" she'd returned from some relatives house to salvage her belongings. As for the dog it wasn't clean it had bits of debris all over its fur from being trapped in a crawl space. Turning this into conspiracy is really going overboard.
