UPDATE: Joseph Abandoned at Christmas Loves Blizzard of Puppy Tails

131 comments UPDATE: Joseph Abandoned at Christmas Loves Blizzard of Puppy Tails

On Christmas Eve, I told you the story of a dog named Joseph who had been abandoned at train station in Bulgaria. An eye witness saw a car pull up and put the dog out. For three days, Joseph stood there in the cold and refused to budge, even when another dog attacked him. The woman who saw his abandonment brought him a little food each day as she came to catch the train, but something more needed to be done and fast. My partners at Colonel Angel Street Dogs told me about the dog, and thanks to the generosity of the Care2 audience, I was able to dispatch emergency funds instantly.  After a great deal of coaxing, Joseph was eventually convinced to come into the warmth of a taxi and he and the volunteer who rescued him set off to the veterinary clinic.

Joseph is still in Bulgaria with Colonel Angels Bulgarian Street Dogs and now ready for adoption in Europe. Lately he’s been busy playing with puppies at the boarding facility and shows a good appetite and a sunny disposition. I couldn’t resist sharing this poignant video of his transformational rescue.  The best is yet to come dear Joseph. (See more great before & after photos)

Bless you wonderful people for giving this precious soul another chance at life--as for those who abandoned Joseph, Karma is going to bite you in the butt when you least expect it!!

Poor Joseph. I am glad he was rescued, but I pray he finds a forever home soon before he forgets what a family is like.

As for the people who dumped him, it is your loss. Joseph seems like a sweet dog. Why would you just dump him? He will know love again, and he will forget all about you one day.

There are some very sick individuals in this world. To dump any animal is unforgivable. I hope Joseph finds someone to love him soon and has a forever home.

Heartbreaking to realise that people could do this to such a beautiful dog (or any animal).
I too, thank everyone from the lovely lady who fed him, through to Colonel Angels in Bulgaria for all their input and costs. Joseph does look a much happier dog.
Please let us know when he is home with those who will love him unconditionally forever.
