Westboro Baptist Church Will Picket Elizabeth Edwards’ Funeral

Westboro Baptist Church Will Picket Elizabeth Edwards’ Funeral

The infamous Westboro Baptist Church, known for picketing soldiers’ funerals, as well as its radical stance on homosexuality and the war in Iraq, announced today that they will protest at Elizabeth Edwards’ funeral, to be held on Saturday in Raleigh, NC.
Edwards, the late wife of former vice presidential candidate John Edwards, struggled with breast cancer for six years before her death on Tuesday.

Westboro Church, which among other controversial and offensive statements, has said that soldiers’ deaths in Iraq are God’s punishment for the “sin of homosexuality,” outlined their reasons for the protest in a promotional flier, referring to the fertility treatments that she reportedly used to conceive her two younger children.
The flier also referenced the tragic death of Edwards’ son in a car accident, which led Edwards to question her own faith, a struggle that she outlined in her book.

The promotional flier is, unsurprisingly, extremely inflammatory:

“When they were visited from the Most High God with the death of their 16-year-old son, they did not humble themselves before His mighty hand. They reared up in rage, decided they would show God who is boss, and meddled in matters of the womb, resulting in 2 more children — now motherless.”

The Westboro Church claims that Edwards is now a “resident of hell, where her rebellion and rage will take full flower.”

Hello folks! Just know this: The members of the WBC are practically all related to eachother. That means they practice inbreeding and we all know the genetic tragedies they result in...dumbdidumddumbdumbdidumb...

Why even bother with this. We do't need to know about it. Let the ignoramuses stew in their own juice!

This group needs to be vanguished. They are not a church since the GOD is love and all they have is hate. Their day is coming and it doesn't look good. What if one of their family members was on the side of this outcome, I am sure you wouldn't see picket signs. This is taking amendment 1 too far along with funerals for veterans. They are not Americans.

This is not a church. It is a bunch of hate mongering zealots. It's probably redundant to note that they all all total nut jobs but I'll say it anyway.

Extremists masquerading as Baptists.
They thrive on the publicity, best ignored as not being worth the effort of reading about.

Make a difference, plant a tree.

This church think they have a mandate from God but what they are doing is completely ungodly. First they are not showing love. Second they are taking over God's role of being the judge. Third they are taking the Lord's name in vain by saying how God would react to this family. Do not judge Jesus by the actions of this church as he doesnt operate like this. I have been a born again christian for 33 years and am embarrassed by these toxic comments. They dont draw folk to Christ they make them angry with the so alled christianity that they perceive. Remember God is love and he loves you.

You know, when I was growing up in Arkansas, most of my friends were Baptist. I went to their church a few times and I am here to tell you that they were all about the Golden Rule & LOVE!
I remember one of my friends defending a classmate everyone thought was gay. She said that, "Judging is best left up to God. After all, He knows everything." Then she put her arm around that kids' shoulders and steered her right through the brats that had been tormenting her. Westboro is NOT a Chruch they are a HATE GROUP and should be treated as such!!!
