The Only Candidate Who Can Stand Up and Say “F*ck You, Science!” (Video)

Written by Stephen Lacey

Modern journalism has spawned an entire fact-checking industry. Remarkably, even with the rise of dedicated fact checkers, politicians get away with lying more than ever. So what’s the best way to get people to pay attention to the lies? My personal preference is mockery. I find comedy a very effective tool for pointing out the absurdities in modern politics.

And that’s why I like the new Actually… campaign from actors and comedians like Sarah Silverman, Rosie Perez, Jay Smooth, and W. Kamau Bell (who is featured below).

In the latest installment of the Actually… video series, Bell excitedly explains why he’s so excited about Mitt Romney’s climate denial: “Hmm. Actually I think Mitt might be onto something really big here. He’s the only candidate bold enough to stand up and say what I’ve been feeling for so many years. F*ck you, science!”

Watch it below. And afterward, check out the small-but-budding list of videos here. (This video contains strong language).

If what Leah h said really happens, i hope i'm dead by then. I give myself another 40-50 years. Hopefully some of what we're doing, is helping to slow that down, and maybe eliminate some of the easily "fixable" problems. Don't know if this is already been implemented, but what if America sold their info on how to burn clean coal to China? The US writes a contract with them, that China is purchasing a product or whatever it might be that helps them to burn clean coal, (i know nothing about how this tech works, i'im just supposing that there is something that can be leased) on a yearly basis, and deducting whatever America's debt is to them, or at least a large portion of it. Then the environment, and the people of China and other parts of Asia (and beyond) that the emissions travel to via the wind, benefit. America continues to contract to them until their debt with them is paid off. Everyone wins!

Reality is indifferent to human "belief". Whether you "believe" or disbelieve, the results are the same. The ice will melt; the globe will continue to warm; species will continue to die-off; food and clean water will be in ever greater demand; people will be on the move to avoid the rising sea level, and the result will be conflict in a struggle for survival the likes of which the human species has never seen. Only then when some of you realize that "belief" has nothing to do with it. Action, and now, is the only hope.
