Zach Wahls: My Two Moms (VIDEO)

Iowa teenager Zach Wahls has discussed his forthcoming book about growing up with two moms with In The Life media.

Wahls, whose testimony against a move to once again ban same-sex marriage in Iowa went viral over the Internet, has written a book to further elucidate on his message that it’s not the gender of his parents that has led him to be the person that he is but the loving upbringing they have provided him.

The book is called My Two Moms: Lessons of Love, Strength and What Makes a Family, and is slated for release in the next few months.

Watch Zach talk about his reasons for writing the book and more below:

This heartwarming film kicks-off a series of In The Life programing that will feature Wahls, including anhour-long online forum for LGBT parents and kidsthat is free for anyone to join. The forum will be hosted on May 16. More details are available here.

Prior to North Carolina moving to codify its ban on marriage equality, Zach Wahls released a video imploring people not to support Amendment 1 because it would hurt families like his.

Give your two moms a hug from me. They deserve a big pat on the back for raising a child to manhood who has such a compassionate, balanced, intelligent heart.

Way to go Zach! Sexual orientation doesn't define who you are or who your children are and people shouldn't be judged on this.

Go Zach! I'll look for the book in my library (sorry, unemployed) and on In The Life.

How can Zach's moms not be proud of him. What a good job they did parenting. My daughter has two moms and at 23 I couldn't be any prouder of the job we did getting her there. The only problem with us being gay was her fear that someone would beat us up. My mother was afraid of that for her as well and thought we should never have had her because it would ruin her life. It took her years to get that it was the uneducated about homosexuals like she was that was the prob not us. Love a happy ending.
