Help Protect a Mother's Life

H.R. 358 or the Protect Life Act could kill American women.

Currently, hospitals and other health care providers are required to do whatever it takes to save the life of a mother, which can include performing an abortion. If the health care provider can not provide the necessary procedure, they are required to facilitate a transfer to a location that can.

Under the Protect Life Act, sponsored by Rep. Joe Pitts (R-Pa.), health care providers would be allowed to refuse to provide abortion care or refer the patient to another hospital, even if the woman's life is in danger. Doctors who refuse to perform a life-saving abortion could stand aside while a mother dies and be protected by the law for it.

Like everyone else, pregnant women should make the decisions about their health care, especially during an emergency. This bill is making its rounds in Congress and could be up for a vote soon. Let Congress know that all women deserve the right to life-saving care.
We, the undersigned, are strongly opposed to H.R. 358, the Protect Life Act. We believe that everyone should have access to emergency life-saving procedures. Give women the final choice in their health care and vote against H.R. 358.
