Use The Rainy Day Fund To Save Texas Education And Health Care!
Texas needs to do something about our $27 billion deficit. Rick Perry%u2019s policies were responsible for at least a $10 billion. Now he wants to balance it on the back of the middle class. Rick Perry is pushing draconian cuts that will seriously harm Texas and Texans. In Texas, we do big things. Texas is about hope, opportunity, and fair play. We can%u2019t allow Rick Perry to take that away!
Forget Perry%u2019s radical JOB KILLING policies. We need a balanced approach. Until then, we have a $9 billion Rainy Day Fund. Rick Perry has told Republican leaders in both the Texas State House and Senate that they can%u2019t use this fund.
Help give our elected officials backbone to say NO! to Rick Perry. Seventy percent of Texans don%u2019t want to see cuts to education. Sixty-one percent of Texans don%u2019t want to see cuts to Health Care. We understand that this would cause serious harm to our state.

We all know that Texas is in a tight position due to the $27 billion budget deficit. One that we can%u2019t cut our way out of. Texas is already the leanest low-service state in America. We have no fat in the budget. Relying only on
job killing budget cuts will actually hurt us. For every $1 we cut with Medicaid and CHIP, we will be sending at least $2.81 back to Washington. We will be losing federal funding for education and road maintenance. This is also a job killing action. Then we lose tax revenues. This ends up creating a downward spiral for Texas.
Let%u2019s stop that now by having a balanced approach to solving our budget problem. Please act in a
fiscally responsible manner. The first step is to vote to use the Rainy Day Fund to help balance the budget. Do the right thing. Do it for Texas and Texans. I look forward to positive action from you to make Texas work for Texans. And keep it the Great State of Texas!
