Demand Criminal Investigation for Bullied Kopachuck Middle School Student!

  • by: Ann W.
  • recipient: Mike Davis, Police Chief, City of Gig Harbor, Washington

Last February, a 13-year-old Kopachuck Middle School boy in Gig Harbor, Washington was emotionally and physically bullied by his classmates while his teacher watched and at times participated in the abuse! His parents are demanding a criminal investigation into the matter.

A cell phone video recorded by the students shows a horrific scenario of the young boy being dragged around the classroom, having chairs stacked upon him and a sock shoved into his mouth.

The boy, who is now enrolled in a private school, felt despondent over his circumstances, telling his parents “I wanted to kill myself.”

The Peninsula School District has opted not to fire the teacher, but only to suspend him for 10-days without pay for "inappropriate classroom management."

This kind of abuse cannot be tolerated and should be investigated as a possible crime by the Gig Harbor police department. Please sign this petition demanding accountability!

Dear Police Chief Mike Davis,

Last February, a 13-year-old boy endured an act of physical and emotional abuse at the hands of a gang of students and a teacher in your city and inside one of your schools!

His parents want a criminal investigation conducted and we (the undersigned) stand in full support of such action!

By investigating this matter to the fullest extent of the law you will be sending a message to students and teachers alike, that this behavior will not be tolerated!

You will also be sending a message of support to the young victim, and indeed victims everywhere, that the law and justice will protect them!

Please stand with the victim!

Sincerely,
