10. California Spangled

In the 1980s the breeder was urged by famed anthropologist Louis Leaky to develop the breed. Like the Sokoke, the California Spangled was bred to resemble wild African cats, particularly the leopard. Today, the cat is extremely rare, having been surpassed in popularity by other wild cat-like breeds such as the Bengal and the Ocicat.

stop the insanity, every time one of these GMO cats is purchased a shelter cat dies. plus breeders sell unneutered cats unlike your local rescue group. DONT BUY! rescue, spay and neuter

They're all lovely, although I don't like the way that more short-legged breeds are being developed. I wonder what the difference is between the Peterbald and the Sphynx?
