10 Things That Winners are Never Afraid to Do

10 Things That Winners are Never Afraid to Do

“Winners don’t do different things; they just do things differently,” says motivational guru Shiv Khera.

In our everyday life, we see evidence of how winners do things differently. One trait I notice is their refusal to be afraid of things most people might fear, or at least be wary of. Here is my list of things winners are never afraid to do:

  • Ask for what they want, without being aggressive.
  • Give credit where it is due, without being condescending.
  • Take credit where it is due, without being arrogant.
  • Live today to the fullest without wallowing in yesterday and worrying about tomorrow.
  • Admit that they don’t know some things.
  • Face competition. They take it as a healthy challenge, not as a reason to get pushy and ugly.
  • Analyze their own role in a rocky relationship, rather than simply blaming the other person.
  • Say “I am sorry” when they make a mistake.
  • Pay a compliment— they are positive and secure people.
  • Take risks and push their luck.

Do you have any other traits to add to the list?

There is something else winners do more differently. They don't give up as easily. They don't accept defeat without a fight. When I say defeat I mean it. A winner really believes their cause is just, fair and correct.

Terrorists believe in their cause as well. However, in no way can they believe themselves to be fair just. They do believe some outrageous things, like having 40 virgins waiting for them after committing a suicide bombing killing a lot of innocent people.

stand up for someone who is unfairly accused of something. Give encouragement to a co-worker.
I try but I have yet to "win"

Hi Shubhra, The winners I admire most are those that practice the one-way mirror approach to successes and shortfalls: Successes are the result of a team functioning well, and recognition is due for all. Shortfalls rest on the winner's shoulders alone, and are opportunities for improving next time.
