10 Unusual Uses for Peanut Butter

peanut butter

6. Shaving (in a pinch!)

Out of shaving cream? Spread peanut butter thinly on your face or legs, and shave away! Not only will the peanut butter protect your skin from razor burn, but the oil will leave it soft and smooth. Just wash it off with soap and water afterwards, especially if you’re using it on your face. You don’t want too much residual oil once your skin absorbs what it needs to replenish.

7.  Lubricating

I wouldn’t use this on hinges or anything inside the house, since the peanut butter smell will attract ants but for outdoor uses, peanut butter makes a great lube if you’re out of the conventional stuff. Just rub it on any rusty hinges or gears to get things moving in a flash!

8. Removing Glue from Your Hands

Did your latest craft project leave your hands covered in super glue or glue stick? Banish that sticky mess by rubbing on some peanut butter and following up with a good ol’ soap-and-water wash. The oils in the peanut butter break down the glue and moisturize your hands at the same time.

9. Medicating Your Pet

My dog Jenna spits out any pills we need to give her, but hide that sucker in a glob of peanut butter, and she thinks it’s party time! I know that I said you could use sunflower butter for all of these, but Jenna can’t stand the stuff! Not all dogs dislike sunflower butter, but if you’ve got a picky pup on your hands, this tip might not work out for you.

10. Repairing a Scratched CD or DVD

Does your favorite CD have a scratch on it? Gently rub some peanut butter on the scratched area, then wipe away with a cotton ball or soft cloth to fix the skip.

Best mouse trap bait you can use. Far better than cheese. Must try it for the ants.

Moisturizing hair!? ... Then, how would I get rid of the smell of peanut butter from my hair! No way! ... Also, cleaning leather? Same thing ... then getting rid of the stench of peanut butter would be the next problem to solve. I really like the idea of using it to trick our pets to take their medication, though. That is a good idea. Thanks!

I always add some flavouring to home-made bread, and have any number of different extras, but peanut butter is the best ever!

One thing is certain.
I have been buying almond butter, in place of regular peanut butter.
