Good suggestions but the format of 11 pages was an unnecessary hassle.

My parents are quite elderly (90 & 93) and the best exercise I have found for them is going to a warm water pool at the local gym. They get a senior rate on their membership. I used to take them, but as I do a lot of caretaking for them it became too much for me. Now I have a health aide who takes them twice a week. They walk and do some limited exercises at home as well.

I realize not everyone can afford a gym membership, but there are also programs at the local Y for less (often "Arthritis Exercise" or something similar) . While my parents were mobile on their own (and could tolerate the cooler water) they participated in such a program for $3 each per class.

Exercising in the water is very safe (no falls!) and in warm water can be very therapeutic for stiff joints.
