some good ideas. recipes are definitely the way forward as so many people don't know what to do with them, except roast most of them. however, on the first page when it was written:

"Some gourds are put to culinary application, but most are used in the form of a vessel; think bowls, bottles, yerba mate cups, musical instruments, and birdhouses."

i thought you were also going to mention/show the native tribes in West Papua and their use of gourds. they take out the inside, discard it, roast it and use them to cover up their penis! they are often know locally as 'koteka'

I love pumpkins and other squash. It's a shame that so many people don't like them. It's the Fruitcake of the vegetable world I guess.
