Peach-Faced Lovebird
Peach-faced lovebirds get their name for their affection toward their owners and other birds. These birds, with more than twelve mutations, are native to southwest Africa, are very social and affectionate, and love companionship. Peach-faced lovebirds make great pets; just be sure you get two if you can’t supply one with the attention it needs on your own.

+ add your ownLovely! Having a lifelong interest in exotic birds, I was having fun identifying each bird before I read the caption underneath, but the Dusky Lory stumped me. (OK, I knew it was a lory, because I have a book on the parrots of the world, but I forgot which one.)
I know why flamingos stand on one leg. Most birds do this to sleep or rest, and their leg muscles automatically lock into position, which prevents them from falling if they really relax.
