3 Healthy Smoothie Recipes for Summer

These healthy smoothie recipes star seasonal summer fruits. Let’s get blending!

Most of the year frozen fruits are the base for my healthy smoothie recipes, but in summer there’s so much beautiful, seasonal fruit available! It seems like a crime to grab a bag of frozen peaches or berries when you can hit the farmers market for the real deal picked the day before.

Finding Fruit in Season

Shopping your local famers market is the best way to find out what’s seasonal, and you can adapt your smoothies to accommodate what’s fresh now..

The joy of these healthy smoothie recipes is their flexibility. You can mix and match your ingredients to use what’s seasonal. If the recipe calls for kale, but your farmers market is rich with collards, go for it! Can’t find blackberries? Use another berry instead.

If you don’t have a farmers market in your area, you can still look for fruit that’s in season now. This site has a list of seasonal food guides by state that’s very handy. You can also look for CSAs and farmers markets using Local Harvest. Maybe there’s a market or farm share that you didn’t know about in your town!

Seems like some odd combinations, but can't knock them until I try them. I make my own smoothies, but haven't tried putting in kale, or turmeric in them.

Although I like to support Farmer's Markets, I find them to be so expensive! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for posting!🌼

Be aware that a lot of dried fruits are preserved with sulfites. If you suffer from asthma, they can…

Nothing like fresh grown produce, unless you grow it your self!
