Russell Simmons

For many the name Russell Simmons is synonymous with some of the most notorious rap and hip hop acts of the past few decades. It may come as a surprise to know that despite his tough exterior, Simmons is also a vegan and animal rights activist who practices yoga. He was awarded the PETA 2011 Person of the Year Award, advocates for the reporting of animal cruelty, and started a vegan line of clothing that is fur, wool and leather-free.

SPARKY IS A DIABETIC MINI SCHNAUZER WITH CATARACTS. CATARACTS ARE A COMMON RESULT OF DIABETES. HIS HUMAN HAD TO GIVE HIM UP BECAUSE SHE IS TOO OLD TO TAKE CARE OF HIM ANY LONGER. I AM FOSTERING HIM UNTIL WE CAN FIND HIM A NEW HOME. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO PLACE DIABETIC DOGS, EVEN MORE DIFFICULT TO PLACE A BLIND DIABETIC DOG. I AM TRYING TO GIVE SPARKY A BETTER CHANCE TO BE ADOPTED. IT ALSO BREAKS MY HEART TO SEE AN ANIMAL GO BLIND. MY SWEET DOG BAILEY IS NEARLY BLIND AND I CAN SEE HOW FRUSTRATING IT IS FOR HIM. SPARKY AND I WOULD BE SO GRATEFUL TO ANYONE FOR ANY HELP. IF I AM ABLE TO RAISE ENOUGH TO GET THIS SURGERY I WILL POST THE BILL SO PEOPLE CAN SEE THAT THE MONEY WAS USED EXACTLY AS STATED, FOR CATARACT SURGERY. THE SURGERY FOR ONE EYE IS A LITTLE MORE THAN $2,000. I HAVE RAISED $1,000 SO FAR. http://www.gofundme.com/2v8pmc

Its great that these people lend their voices and time to animals in need. Ellen is doing it all the time and has adopted one or two dogs. I forget their names tho

While I appreciate the efforts of these "celebrities" I realize that something is terribly wrong ... with me? I don't know any of the seven! Am I missing out on something?

Please ...there are a lot of dogs suffering horribly in Ragley,Louisiana. Hoarding issue? Many dogs are locked together in non-ventilated trailers, more are locked up together in large cages...NO FOOD,NO WATER AND OBVIOUSLY...NO CARE!!!!!The Sheriff Ricky Moses 337-463-3281 IS NOT DEALING WITH THE SITUATION. THEIR ANIMAL CONTROL SAW THIS, TOOK TWO PUPPIES AND LEFT ALL THE OTHERS AT THIS HORRIBLE PLACE. No one seems to be coming to their rescue. There was a video taken for proof, then posted it on youtube-of course they took it down...no video, no proof! The video and who took it, have no idea what happened to the person filming...Facebook Orange For Animal Cruelty Awareness-Ccauses.com Tragic Hoarding Issue....Rural area, does not mean these dogs deserve to die. Is anyone out there going to let that area know, that it is NOT OKAY for these dogs to die?

It's good to see that they use their celebrity status to speak up for the voiceless. Many thanks!

As a plan sounds great. But lets see if they'll do it.

Bravissimi, più frutta e verdura non sono perfetti, e più sono buoni !

I'll try this with my cats, thank you.

I cook a lot with wine but never thought about making my own red wine vinegar. Will give that a go.
