7 Healthy Snacks for Couch Potatoes

Even the healthiest among us like to spend a little time vegging on couch with a bowl of snacks and a great movie to watch. But that doesn’t mean your late night snack has to be a calorie bomb! Yep, there are plenty of healthier ways to eat after a long day. Check out some recipes below, and tell us about your favorite couch potato snack in the comments!

1. Popcorn with Nutritional Yeast, Lime Juice, & Paprika

When popcorn isn’t dripping with butter and salt, it’s a healthy alternative to higher-calorie snacks. There are several ways to prepare healthy popcorn, but this is one of my favorites. You’ll see more ideas below.

• 1/2 cup plain popcorn
• 4-5 tablespoons nutritional yeast
• 1/2 lime, juiced
•  1-2 dashes paprika

1. Follow instructions for popcorn. Pour into bowl.
2. Add remaining ingredients and toss to coat evenly.

Other Great Popcorn Topping Ideas:
2. Soy sauce and nutritional yeast
3. Agave syrup or honey
4. Dried Italian herbs (0regano, basil, rosemary, etc.) and olive oil

5. Banana-Chocolate “Ice Cream”

2 cups bananas, chopped and frozen
2 Tbsp cocoa powder

Milk to taste
Shredded coconut
Peanut butter

1. Add all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.

6. DIY Corn Chips

2 cups fresh corn
1/4 cup cilantro, dried
Sea salt to taste

1. Blend corn and cilantro in a food processor.
2. Spread evenly on wax paper. Sprinkle with salt if desired. Let dry until crisp, about 12 hours.

7. Kale Chips

1 bunch Tuscan kale leaves
1 Tbsp olive oil

1. Rinse and let it dry. Cut kale in half lengthwise, removing center ribs and stems.
2. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
3. In large bowl, toss kale leaves with oil & salt and pepper to taste.
4. On two large baking sheets, arrange a single layer of kale.
5. Bake for 30 minutes, or until crisp. Let cool.

I also know one very common good snack , if people just bother to make it. You can do snacks of root vegetables in an easy way: Take the vegetables you want: red root, parsnip, carrot, black root (prevent cancer), radish anything you like. I have a machine with is help for making salads but make very thin slices all what you want. Spread them on the baking sheets and next. Take some lovage (gives a bit salty taste), and other herbs and rather the ones which are healing.make them very small and shake a bit on the root vegetables. Put them into the owen 50 C degrees and let them dry there and you have really tasty and healthy snacks.
