Always don't be afraid to wash with a dab of dish detergent and rinse good. The fruit, veg, onions, lettuce, apples,peaches,plums etc. even if it is organic it has been handled and shipped & put on the shelf!! You will be glad you did.

my heart nearly stopped when I saw the picture of popcorn....fortunately, we do it the old fashioned way...phew!.....and I am also addicted in a way to apples.....always make sure "organic" appears somewhere, the celery will have me looking more at tentatively though...did NOT know that.....

Consumers definitely need to be aware of a number of issues regarding the food they eat, but I for one am getting really, really sick reading articles here that are more about shock value than the truth. NEVER eat apples unless they're organic?? Come ON!!! I'd rather see consumers giving their kids an apple from the supermarket that they have rinsed off in the sink than a bag of Doritos or potato chips, which is what they are eating now. By scaring people into avoiding healthy foods you are accomplishing the EXACT opposite of what this country needs...which is intelligent discourse and a healthy portion of COMMON SENSE!! Most people can't afford organic produce and grass fed beef and your shock journalism will not change that fact!
I am unsubscribing from this newsletter and encourage everyone with a functioning brain to do the same. These articles are full of pseudoscience, unsubstantiated "facts" and studies that --in many cases--were later debunked.
The lining of the microwave popcorn bags will certainly keep me from eating it. I don't really eat it to begin with so no big loss there. but the canned tomatoes! That shocked me! I try to do fresh as much as possible but I keep a few cans in supply. You know who will be replacing them with the tetrapak kind now!
Yikes!! I always thought that margarine was healthier - well, back to butter I go....
