8 Superfoods You Probably Aren’t Eating

  • 3 of 9

3. Adzuki Beans

They’re smaller than black beans and reddish brown in color but loaded with nutrients. In fact, these little guys contain some of the highest levels of protein and lowest levels of fat of any variety of beans. They also contain high levels of potassium, fiber, B vitamins, iron, zinc, and manganese. Adzuki beans promote regular bowel movements, are a good source of energy, and help lower cholesterol. Try them out in these Easy, Upscale Nachos.

Tim, the reason Kale is not on the list of "superfoods" is because it was last year's "superfood".

Superfood is a made up marketing term. It's intended to spark momentary interest, and Kale's day in the sun has passed. Kale is actually quite good for you, and I ate when the other yuppies were eating acai, and I'll continue when the rest of the world decides chocolate is the new "superfood" (er, wait, that's it, isn't it?)

The same foods will be just as nutritious next year, as they were before. We've been cultivating plants for thousands of years. There are no surprises over the horizon for those who've already opened their eyes.

Tanya said, "Hemp seeds.. Only if you want to go to jail!!!"...........FYI, Tanya..........hemp seeds are not illegal, nor when eaten do they get anyone "high". They're available from health food stores everywhere, even at Fred Meyer.

Thank god care2 members don't run the world.

Hmmm. 1) does this mean that they're going to do with organic growers what they've ritually done …

When will the cruelty and violence end. It has to stop now,
