Brendon Grimshaw, 86, has lived alone on the small island of Moyenne in the Seychelles in the middle of the Indian Ocean since he purchased it in 1962. Far from lonely, Mr. Grimshaw shares his paradise with 120 magnificent tortoises. In this BBC interview, Grimshaw offers a glimpse into his life — and what a life it is! Be prepared to smile.

Wonderful wonderful man!!! Hope he stays in great health for many more years!!! I also hope & pray he is able to bring on a few people who passion is as great to live out the year's with these amazing turtles

He's a unique individual. He's created a beautiful place. I would miss electricity and running water (assuming he doesn't have it). Wonder where he shops for food for himself and the animals he takes care of? I did see a cat.
