Dandelion root is a great food for the liver and now is a good time to start eating it as we are heading into Spring Cleansing time. The other great time to eat it is fall, when the body also wants to detoxify, preparing for the next season. Having problems conceiving? Check the health of the liver. Weak immune system? Check the health of the liver. I wish we had a glass window showing what happens to our poor livers when we eat the average North American diet. The Chinese call the liver the King of all Organs! In my practice I see more and more people developing "fatty liver disease" which is caused by high fructose, high sugar diets that raise triglycerides. If you are having problems you may need to limit your fruit intake as well. Fruit juice needs eliminating as it contains too much natural sugar.
