Adjust your thermostat one degree higher in the summer and one degree cooler in the winter. Each degree less will save about 10 percent on your energy use. Invest in a programmable thermostat, which will allow you to regulate temperature. Read about how to save money by adjusting your thermostat.

Thank you
This year I can't up my thermostat...With an historic record breaking heat wave here in the south east (and south) I'd rather bite the bullet and pay the higher price for my A/C that is running overtime...
I do NOT use my gas heat in the winter and yes, it does get cold in the house...But I mainly stay in my bedroom suite (bedroom and bathroom attached) with 3 heaters going...I have heating water for a "shower" down to a science and that way I am NOT running the water and wasting it while I "shower" in the tub...

always impressed with the benefits of making small changes, but unfortunately too many of us prefer comforts rather than doing what is best for everyone and the future....
Thanks for the article.
