A Simple DIY Hair Treatment For Any Season

A Simple DIY Hair Treatment For Any Season

By Vanessa, DivineCaroline

No matter what season it is, our hair can take a real beating if we don’t take proper care of it. But does that have to mean pricey salon treatments? Not anymore, ladies!

Recently I have been getting my DIY on, embracing my inner hair stylist, and trying out different organic hair masks to see what ingredients help to revive my limp locks.

Finally, after a few tries, I think I have found it. The hair mask that helps your hair to look its very best, no matter what the season, and uses ingredients most of us have in our kitchens!

Similar to many at-home anti-aging face masks, for this hair treatment you simply need to grab yourself some honey, an egg, and a little bit of olive oil. And it just keeps getting easier from there.

Natural Hair Care Straight From The Kitchen

All you have to do is combine half a cup of honey with 1 egg yolk and 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a bowl, stir it up, and work the solution into damp hair.

Make sure you have a shower cap close by so that you can put your hair up in the shower cap. That way it doesn’t drip all over the floor and you won’t have to waste your time cleaning up a big mess.

Once you have your shower cap on, keep the hair mask in your hair for up to 20 minutes, so that it can fully absorb into your hair and work its moisturizing magic.

After your 20 minutes are up, rinse your hair out with cool water (that way you can avoid the egg cooking in your hair).

Thanks to the honey, which is a natural humectant, you should notice your hair feels softer and more moisturized. In addition to that, the egg yolk and olive oil are packed full of healthy fats and proteins which help to give our hair a healthy shine, while keeping it strong, no matter what season it is.

So hit the kitchen, embrace your inner DIY diva, and help save yourself some money with this simple and quick at-home hair treatment. Your hair—and your bank account—will thank you for it.

Question: it says to rinse after... will just water rinsing take the egg/honey/oil smell out or can we use shampoo?
